It is a great Chef knife… very sharp, light and easy to handle. I am definitely buying another one!!! Oh, and it has the Victorinox brand behind it (you know, the makers of the Swiss Army Knives!).

Product does not fit some knives. I have a Wusthof 10“ chefs knife that would not fit without modifications.

Reasons I think this product deserves five stars:

+Fits my Cutco 10″ chef’s knife and I’m assuming many other brands of 8-10″ chef’s knifes. I’ve tried a few other types and they’ve all worked but I’m not sure of the exact brand/models other than being 8 or 10″ chef’s knifes.

+Very reasonable price, cheaper than other brand’s that sell similar covers.

    +Well made and very secure.

+This cover keeps the knife from becoming dull when moving around kitchen drawers.

+Most importantly this cover provides peace of mind. All the other types of make-shift knife covers I’ve used have been prone to slip off during travel. There is nothing scarier than arriving at a campsite late at night and worrying that you’re hand will meet the raw edge of a knife when reaching into the kitchen supplies container. Also, as a child care provider I bring my own cooking supplies to many of the homes I work for. Although the children are older and know how to handle knifes, I’ve always worried that one would cut themselves when trying to find something in my supply bag while preparing meals. *

*Obviously I wouldn’t recommend leaving the knife out where young children may access them regardless of how secure the cover may seem.

I bought this for my son who loves to cook but always complained about our lack of good knives (we have ONE good one). So for his birthday, I got him his own very nice knife. And I bought this to help him keep it protected. It’s great. Very handy.

Works well, I only needed it for a short time until I adjusted my block. Try to get a good price, it seems a little expensive. If you don’t have your knives in a block or otherwise protected get one of these.
