&lt;br /&gt;So if buying a new set of knives the best deal is to get a set with a wood storage block. This also frees up space
&lt;br /&gt;in drawers and makes knife storage and drying a no brainer (I find that there is enough air space around knives in a block to dry them, so I put them away sponge dry damp). If you need to have seperate knives, this seems to be the best blade guard, and fits a range of blade sizes.
